Capacity Building

(Also known as Skill Development)

What is Capacity Building?

Capacity Building is an NDIS-funded support category focused on helping people build the functional skills they need to become more independent and achieve their goals. At Everybody OT, we deliver capacity building supports that are tailored to each person’s unique strengths, abilities, and challenges.

Often referred to as skill development, these supports are practical, person-centred, and delivered in real-life settings such as the home, local community, or even via telehealth.

Our therapists work collaboratively with participants to develop the skills that matter most to them — whether that’s learning to cook, improving hygiene routines, accessing public transport, or managing social situations.

Our Person-Centred Approach

We believe therapy should be built around your goals, not ours. Whether you want to learn to cook a meal, catch a bus, or get ready for supported work, we’ll work with you to set achievable, meaningful goals that reflect your values, interests, and aspirations.

Our sessions are always adapted to your learning style — whether that’s step-by-step support, visual tools, repetition, or real-world practice. We can also involve family members, support workers, or other professionals to ensure continuity and generalisation of skills.

Ready to Build Your Capacity?

If you or someone you support could benefit from capacity building occupational therapy, we’re here to help.
